Santorini, Greece Styled Wedding

It's no big secret that I love destination weddings... but did you know I didn't have one? I opted for the traditional church wedding and hotel ballroom reception! I looked into getting married abroad, but it just wasn't the right choice for our extended family who I knew wouldn't be able to swing the price tag of an exotic location.

That said, while we weren't married in a castle in France, or a beach in Barbados, you had better believe I insisted on a babymoon abroad. My husband hadn't traveled much outside of the United States, and we wanted to go somewhere neither of us had been before, so we opted for Greece. A few nights in Athens, then off to Mykonos, and ending the trip in Santorini. We went late September, so the weather was cool, the beaches were empty, and let's be honest, the prices reasonable. I love traveling in the "off-season" because I think you get a more honest experience...aka more locals and fewer tourists.

Santorini was straight out of a dream. The bright blue water against the white buildings carved out of the hillside were the perfect backdrop to the most stunning sunsets I'd ever seen. So when I was approached by Samantha Genido to collaborate on a styled wedding shoot there, I jumped at the opportunity and can't imagine a more idyllic backdrop to say "i do".
